Renovation and Seating Upgrade of Bahman Cinema, Tehran
Bahman Cinema in Tehran, one of the capital’s oldest and best-known cultural venues, entrusted Rezco with upgrading the furniture of its main hall in 2016 to improve comfort standards and the audience experience. Considering the hall’s multipurpose use for cinema, theater, and concerts, the main priorities in selecting and installing the seats were a combination of ergonomic comfort, high strength, and precise operating mechanisms.
In this project, 577 custom-designed seats were installed. A key feature was the use of folding cushions with a “balancing mechanism,” maximizing passage space for visitors while the hall is in use. Shared armrests also optimized the hall layout and gave the rows a unified, modern appearance.
The use of engineered materials such as integral armrests with cup holders and plastic backrests provides both visual appeal and durability against wear caused by heavy audience traffic. The MDF base frame with fabric upholstery was selected to improve the hall’s acoustics and create a warmer interior atmosphere.
