Equipment of Shahr-e Aftab Cinema Complex in Shiraz

Design and Implementation of Four Cinema Halls at Persian Gulf Complex

Equipping a cinema hall is not limited to installing seats. Precise floor-slope design, acoustic calculations, standard lighting, and selecting suitable seating all determine the audience’s movie-going experience.

For the Shahr-e Aftab Cinema Complex in Shiraz, Rezco (Rezco) was responsible for the complete design and equipment of the cinema halls. The project was implemented at the Persian Gulf Commercial and Recreational Complex in Shiraz and included architectural design, acoustic calculations, interior décor, and installation of standard cinema seats.

The complex includes four cinema halls with a combined capacity of 1,398 seats, designed and equipped to provide audiences with a professional and comfortable experience.

Architectural and Acoustic Design of the Cinema Halls

One of the most important parts of the project was the precise design of the cinema hall acoustics. Acoustic calculations and suitable materials were used to ensure clear film sound without echo or unwanted noise.

The interior décor included decorative walls, ceilings, control rooms, and simultaneous interpretation rooms, creating halls that are both functional and visually attractive.

Other interior elements included:

  • Carpet flooring suitable for cinema halls
  • Cinematic opening curtains
  • Lighting designed for screening environments

Cinema Seats Used in the Project

The Shahr-e Aftab Cinema Complex uses seats designed specifically for cinema and amphitheater halls and intended for long-term audience use.

Features include:

  • Single-base design with a fixed seat
  • Movable spring-operated backrest for greater audience comfort
  • Backrest frame made of durable plastic
  • Plastic armrests with a cup holder
  • Matching fabric upholstery or integral material for the armrests

These features provide both high comfort and suitable durability for high-traffic cinema halls.

Use of Flame-Retardant Cold Foam

Premium flame-retardant cold foam was used in the seat and backrest. It increases seating comfort, preserves the seat’s shape, and extends service life.

Depending on the client’s order, the upholstery can be selected from Iranian, Turkish, or European fabrics.
